A natural performer, LiL MC stands out on stage with dynamic delivery and sassy wit. This paired with her freestyle rap skills got her recognized quickly after she started performing in 2010 by competing as one of the only women on the local rap battle scene and going on to become a rap battle champion.
Since then, she’s expanded her musical craft from rapping and songwriting to developing her talents in singing and music production, making her one of the 2% of women music producers. Now, she’s teaching beat-making to hundreds of students in collaboration with Oakland Based non-profit, Hip Hop for Change. This work and her original Women’s Empowerment Hip Hop curriculum led to her contributing to Meta’s educational initiative, Code Remix, a free program aimed at developing students’ computer science skills through coding and beat-making.
LiL MC seeks to not just empower students, but women. She’s the founder of Queens of the Underground, a quarterly all-women Hip Hop showcase that gives local artists opportunities to open for and network with more established artists. She also addresses misogyny head-on in her lyrics with bars like “my short skirt is not an invitation for your roofie.” That lyric is from her single “OMG” which was selected to be part of the NBA2k21 video game soundtrack and the NBA Top Shot NFT Collection.
She’s shared stages with powerhouse underground female rappers like Sa-roc, Vel the Wonder, and Che Noir, and has opened for Bay Area legends Too Short, E-40, and Zion I. Her latest project “Riding the Pink Cloud” was featured on Billboard Hip Hop. Her most recent music video in collaboration with LA underground legend Vel The Wonder, is already being recognized as an underground west coast anthem and reached over 26k streams in less than a week. Her recent single “Don’t Negotiate My Price” has over 118k streams on Spotify and was recently featured on Entertainment Monthly and RED X.

Born and raised in Oakland, CA and currently based in LA, King Isis (they/she) shifts shapes and fuses sounds ranging from rock and R&B to jazz and blues, sweeping through pain, growth, and transformation.
Music has been in King Isis’ blood for generations. They were taught on the piano of their great-great-grandmother Omega King, one of the first Black opera singers in Chicago. Stifled by years of stringent classic training, they began to explore alternative worlds.

Dizzy Jenkins aka Dimebag Dizzy is a New York City-born, Oakland-based multi-genre singer/songwriter, drummer, and heavy metal vocalist. Dizzy has released two solo hip hop albums, City Baby and Algorithm & Blues, and, most recently, Skeleton Key, which is a soulful, acoustic take on country, blues, and folk with the signature vocals and lyrics they are known for. Dizzy is also a mom, a surfer, and a visual artist with their work displayed at past Trap Art events. In the fall of 2020, Dizzy’s artist statement and lyrics to their original bomba composition, Agua De Esclavo, were published in the academic journal, Chicana/Latina Studies: The Journal of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social which is an interdisciplinary, peer-reviewed, biannual flagship publication of Mujeres Activas en Letras y Cambio Social (MALCS). Dizzy is currently working on their 4th solo studio album and official debut album with Northern California-based metal group, Transcend The Architect.

Nina Sol, a nod to her Afro-Latina heritage & warm and sunshiny disposition, delivers a genre-bending soulful sound that resonates with audiences locally and across the globe. A vinyl enthusiast that traverses time and texture, Nina’s insatiable curiosity for music discovery keeps her sets fresh and unexpected. Currently based in Oakland, Nina holds monthly residencies at Constellations, a party dedicated to past and present artists born under the zodiac sign of the month, and Elements throwing down underground dance music alongside soulful house DJ veteran, Patrick Wilson. She has played with artists including DJ Spinna, Solange, Rich Medina, Natasha Diggs, Pete Rock, Moodymann, Jose James, Bugz in the Attic, and many others. Sol has contributed to music sites such as Music is My Sanctuary and mainstay parties namely thePeople, Soul in the Horn, Jump N Funk, Makossa Brooklyn, Motown on Mondays, & Black Weirdo. Nina Sol brings a profound energy to dance floors while spreading messages of justice, freedom, and love.

Local Sirens is a free quarterly performance series that celebrates exceptional Bay Area women and gender-expansive musicians and artists. Local Sirens has presented the work of 75+ women and gender-diverse artists and reached over 7,500 attendees at local venues, including Brava, The Rickshaw Stop, Dolby, The New Parish, and more.
