May is Mental Health and Wellness month and what more an appropriate way to reset and return to life as we once knew it than to focus our Teach-A-Thon talks on mindset, self-care and energy elevation for Voice Actors.

We promise not to get to woo-woo or clinical, but rather provide you with SIX invaluable presentations delivered by the most well-respected and notable teachers, coaches and artists in town!

Paul Liberti-Mental Health and the home Studio Voice Actor-Bring your humanity into Voice Acting, from Contemporary Commercial reads, to AudioBook Narration, to Animation, to Video Game Character Building, and more.

With the many changes to the business of Voice Acting, we find ourselves not only as actors – but also as Directors/Editors/Small Business Owners. Paul will explore the impact on the actor’s mental health while working from a home studio – and consistently creating compelling performances. Get a glimpse of how Paul opens actors up to their truthful and organic acting process – which incorporates an element of mindfulness. Participants will explore some of these techniques in class. Paul teaches his Voice Acting approach coast to coast and worldwide, bringing a new level of success to many working actors and Professionals.

Paul also coaches accents for Film, TV, Broadway, and West End actors in such shows as USA Network’s FALLING WATER, History Channel’s VIKINGS, West End’s ONE NIGHT IN MIAMI, Broadway’s GRAND HOTEL (Encores), MY FAIR LADY and more continuing his work and study with Knight Thompson Speechwork. Paul is co-creator of AuthorDirect Audio along with Gordon Rothman. Paul also teaches voice acting to many Universities nationwide. Betsy Capes-Taming the Inner Critic

We all have some version of negative self-talk going on inside our heads. Whether it’s imposter syndrome, perfectionism, fear of failure, or fear of success, it’s time to tame our inner critics and take back control. In this presentation, participants will identify their own inner critics, learn powerful strategies for how to manage fear, resistance, and insecurity, and cultivate confidence and courage through accessing their own inner coach. Addressing a critical issue for all creatives, this presentation will arm participants with tools for taming their inner critics so they can stay focused on what matters most in their lives.

Betsy Capes (CPCC) is the founder and president of Capes Coaching. Now celebrating 18 years in business, Capes Coaching was an early pioneer in the entertainment sector and is sought after by creative professionals and institutions alike for career coaching expertise. Respected for her integrity and approach, Betsy has been engaged as a guest speaker at New York University, The A.R.T. Institute at Harvard University, The New School, Brown University, The Atlantic Theater School, The SAG-AFTRA Foundation, Upright Citizen’s Brigade (UCB), and Carnegie Hall, among others. She is certified through the Coaching Training Institute, holds a BFA in Theatre from the University of Illinois, studied Drama Therapy at NYU, and is a member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). Betsy began her career casting for and directing theatre, developing a deep understanding of the needs and challenges facing artists. This led to the creation of her acclaimed signature course, The Creative Path, which has helped thousands of artists and creatives cultivate and sustain fulfilling careers in the entertainment industry. While Capes Coaching continues to offer coaching services, The Creative Path will launch its first online on-demand format this year tied to a membership community for alumni of the program, the fulfillment of Betsy’s personal vision for the growth of this work.
