From beat boxing to recording instruments in a studio to having it all inside of a laptop, it’s the beat that gives a song life. Learn exactly what elements make a hit record, and how you as an independent producer can leverage your skills to build your own clientele.

This Saturday, we will get to meet with producers who have worked with your favorite artists, including Snoh Aalegra, Tems, Nicki Minaj, Ty Dolla $ign, XXXtentacion, Melly, J. Cole, Tee Grizzley, Nikita Gill, Miley Cyrus, and so many more! Come out to hear about each of their journeys in the music industry, their creative processes, AND to have them judge your beats!

LISTENING SESSION – BEAT BATTLE

The event will be concluded with a listening session. 15 artists will have a chance to play their beats in front of a live audience and will receive a score from our judges.

To be considered for music play in the listening session, artists must purchase a SUBMISSION REVIEW ticket and submit one song LINK (preferably Spotify) by Friday 7/01 at 9pm ET with subject line “SATURDAY SUBMISSION” to info@finessed.media.

Our team will screen your music for relevancy to audience, quality, and how beneficial the feedback will be. If your submission is not accepted, you will receive a full refund. Submissions that are accepted will have 1:30 to 2 min of their song played in front of the audience.

Must be a Finessed Media VIP Career Development member or purchase a SUBMISSION REVIEW ticket for consideration.

TheRealKilamm originally rose to popularity for his video titled “How Brent Faiyaz Sings”. The popularity of this video also allowed his other videos to shine such as “How Kendrick Lamar Raps” and many more of his videos. After the virality of his infamous “Brent Faiyaz” spoof, soon his hype died down as Youtube’s algorithm mainly awards creators constantly pushing out content and the amount of time consumed by the production of his videos made it impossible to constantly push out videos. The Hype of His YouTube channel recently rekindled after he filmed a video showcasing him and Denzel Curry discussing his Videos in which he parodied the flows of artists. This clip of him and Denzel Curry talking about his videos with the parody of Denzel Curry right after it proved to be good enough to get his YouTube channel it’s mojo back. This video ended up getting 101,000 views making all of his videos made in the same time period as it pale in comparison to it. This video proved a point that the thumbnail of a YouTube video can truly affect the numbers and engagement it gets.

Dr. Flow is the alias he goes under for his producer work. He has had placements with the likes of XXXtentacion, Ski Mask the Slump God, YNW Melly, and King Von. While his XXXtentacion placement was when he was still named Young Flow 305. All of these songs with beats produced by him all have the same producer tag of a girl saying “Dr. Flow on operations”.

Jonah Christian is a Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum selling music producer & songwriter. A multi-instrumentalist with Jamaican roots, he has developed his strongest ties as a producer, within the genres that he was raised on. Building a name for himself and a reputation as a tastemaker in RnB, Hip Hop & Soul, Jonah’s discography now speaks for itself.

His first real break came as composer for Beats 1 / Apple, producing bespoke tracks for the platform, which are featured in some of their highest profile campaigns. Gnarly is a British Sri Lankan finger drummer, music producer, live performer, content creator and educator. Internationally renowned for her live finger drumming performances and online content. You can find her performing a highly skilled and captivating live show creating genre-bending future beats you can vibe to in her music production and performance sets.

With the world reopening, 2022 has already been full of exciting opportunities for Gnarly. Earlier this year she performed with legendary sitar player Anoushka Shankar and her band at EartH Hackney for Dialled In Festival, appeared alongside speaker and Gaysians founder Reeta Loi’s TEDx talk as well as being invited to take part in the first ever all female SHE Rap Camp organised by Warner Chappell and Atlantic Records Germany. She was crowned the winner of the first edition of Beat Masters at Red Bull UK with dancer Omni in a new concept battle pairing live beatmakers with dancers. Performing showcases at Musikmesse Frankfurt for ProLight+Sound with Sample Music Festival, Lofi Coffee in London and Lofi Festival 4th Edition Online. She will be making her debut Glastonbury Festival appearance in June and has a number of upcoming new music releases lined up.

“Snake Eyes” from debut album “One Takes Vol. 1” was her first editorial placement on Apple Music’s BEATstrumentals playlist and has gained over half a million streams. Debut label release “Loving Dream / Dimensional Travel” on 4NC¥ became her first Spotify editorial placement on Midnight Chill. “Karapincha” her first international compilation feature with German label Dedicate was released in collaboration with art icon Hera, Stylefile and Nike. Her most recent release “Blossom” with indie label Stereofox has been featured on both lofi beats and Jazz Vibes Spotify playlists gaining over 600k streams on Spotify in just one month. Her music has also been licensed and used for video content by creators and brands such as Logitech, Bandai Namco and Cloak.

Her recent collaboration with esteemed poet and writer Nikita Gill is a dynamic live act that combines Gnarly’s electronic production skills and the spoken poetry of Nikita Gill in a pulsating, hypnotic conversation. Their live show is a mastery of the modern world of music tech and mythological stories told through the lens of South Asian women. Together they appeared on BBC Radio 4 Women’s Hour with Anita Rani and performed at prestigious venues such as Purcell Room at Southbank Centre and Elbphilharmonie Hamburg.

Gnarly is not only a multi-faceted talent in music tech but also a multi-instrumentalist with a BA (Hons) in Sound Arts and Design from the University of the Arts London. As an educator she provides mentoring and teaching on her Patreon as well as leading workshops, appearing on panels and radio shows. She has worked with a number of well known brands and organisations such as Native Instruments, Akai Professional, KEF, Red Bull, Melodics, AIAIAI, ROLI, Reverb, BandLab, Artiphon, SlateDigital, Playtronica, UK Beatbox Championships, Lyrix Organix, She Knows Tech and more on various projects, adverts and promotional content creation for social media and national TV.
