North American Conference on Video Game Music (NACVGM)

Scholars are invited to submit proposals for the ninth North American Conference on Video Game Music. The conference organizing and program committee is composed of Michael Austin & Jesse Kinne (organizers),Karen M. Cook (program committee chair), Jim Buhler, Dana Plank, Neil Lerner, Elizabeth Medina-Gray, Pete Smucker, Ryan Thompson, and Matthew Thompson.

The keynote speaker for this year?s conference will be artist-educator Mega Ran, who will also be performing in concert.

We are soliciting proposals for presentations on any aspect of music in games,including, but not limited to: A) The history of music in video games; B) Approaches to analyzing game music; C) Intersections of game music and other media; D) Critical and/or hermeneutic approaches to game music; E) Case studies of specific games; F) Game music and pedagogy; G) Ethnographic approaches to game music; H) Performance of game music inside and outside of games; I) The intersections of game music and race/ethnicity, socialjustice, and/or hip hop.
