One of the core essentials of being established as an independent artist is having a good team behind you. It’s vital that independent artists know what to look for in A&R and have a comprehensive understanding of this role. Having an amazing person in this position on your team can take your career to new heights.

We’ll be discussing the role and process of A&R and how they discover, sign, and develop independent artists.

We will be joined by:

Adam Small – CEO of ADS Music Partners

Chyna Cayson – A&R / Executive Assistant, Atlantic & Asylum Records

Agenda:

12 – 12:10pm EST Introductions

12:10 – 12:45pm EST Interview with Speakers

12:45 – 1pm EST Q+A with Zoom Audience

1 – 1:30pm EST Listening Session

Adam Small is the CEO of ADS Music Partners and A&R mastermind. With over 3 billion streams under his belt, Adam Small has stamped his name across Billboard charts as one of the premier A&R execs to know. The LA-based, Detroit native has facilitated hit singles from industry leading artists Saweetie, Nicki Minaj, Megan Thee Stallion, Mulatto and more, making it a point to carve out more lanes for the fastest growing segment of musical artists — female rappers.

Chyna Cayson currently currently works in a dual role as A&R/Executive Assistant to the EVP of A&R at Atlantic Records & President of Asylum Records, Dallas Martin. She met Dallas, who also attended her alma mater, during an event she hosted with her organization, The Curators Hub. Some of the artists included on their roster are Roddy Ricch, Cordae, Sada Baby, KenTheMan and more. Still at a young age, Chyna has plans of becoming a force to be reckoned with in the entertainment industry.
