Sessions are open to all genders and are free with a Control Room Key. \nA﻿bout the teacher: \nLisa Kacos is a music maker and music educator currently living in Nashville\, TN. She teaches commercial and classical music courses and is currently on faculty with Lipscomb University and SAE Institute’s Nashville campus. She is a core faculty member with Omni Sound Project and is a regular guest teacher with Thinking Outside the Blocks\, with whom she created a “Rhythm For Songwriters” course. A multi-instrumentalist with a love for producing and songwriting\, Lisa collaborates on music projects both in the studio and onstage. Lisa received a Master of Music Theory with a pedagogy emphasis from Michigan State University and a Bachelor of Composition and Music Theory\, also from MSU.

She has performed across Canada\, showcased throughout the U.S.\, and participated in major music conferences all over the world. Her music has appeared in TV shows (Maid\, Orange is the New Black)\, movies (Happiest Season\, The New Romantic) and featured in editorial playlists on all major streaming platforms (New Music Friday\, Fresh Finds). Her passion for empowerment through education has led her to become a YouTuber for LANDR\, as well as a regular volunteer for the Montreal chapter of Rock Camp For Girls. In April 2021\, she opened her own inclusive studio space\, Chez Ballsy\, in Montreal.

Created for students in Years 9-12\, the workshops provide incredible opportunities to experience playing and performing music\, mentored by AIM’s own accomplished musicians and educators.  \nLearn\, practice and perform contemporary and classic pop\, rock and soul tunes\, under the expertise of Australia’s leading music mentors.  \nOver 2 days students will work with AIM alumni\, professional session guitarist\, award winning producer\, mixer\, songwriter and sound engineer Stephen Zrnic  to expand their performance skills in a collaborative and inspiring environment. They will workshop communication in an ensemble\, chart reading\, rhythm\, pitch\, dynamic\, improvisation\, stylistic interpretation and performance. Under his guidance they will use these new rehearsal and performance techniques to create a small set of diverse songs in collaboration with other students in the class to a present in a performance for family and friends at the end of the day.  \nMonday 16th to Tuesday 17th January 10am to 4pm \nPerformance for family and friends commences at 4pm on Tuesday.

Sessions are open to all genders and are free with a Control Room Key. \nA﻿bout the teacher: \nJam Phelps is a Mixing and Mastering Engineer and owner of Denk Studios. Her studio is focused on uplifting marginalized voices in music such as women and LGBTQ+ folks. She has been a musician for 30 years and specializes in Americana\, Singer Songwriter and Rock music. Jam has been featured on Soundgirls.org\, Stories in Sound\, and The Music Executive podcast.
