Her passion for events and working in entertainment next led Candace to establish an event production company. Candace then continued to build her career in the event space by evolving into live events\, and she spent 10 years as a Live Nation Tour Executive\, booking\, producing\, and promoting major artists like Rihanna\, David Blaine\, and the Backstreet Boys. Her experience and leadership position have allowed her to spearhead inclusive efforts for women in the entertainment industry for the entirety of her career. \nThese continuing efforts\, as well as her own experiences in the male-dominated space\, inspired Candace to launch LIVE OUT L!VE in 2019. Her LA-based organization exists to open more doors for future leaders in live entertainment and instill confidence through mentorship\, events\, seminars\, and more. LIVE OUT L!VE is forging the path to bring better representation to the music industry\, while helping others discover their own passion and purpose. \nAs CEO of LIVE OUT L!VE\, Candace provides consultancy services for artists\, brands\, and companies. Candace is skilled in project management\, marketing\, and finance\, and she is passionate about creating live music experiences with established and emerging artists. LIVE OUT L!VE creates impactful experiential platforms and opportunities. Her team helps with talent and management structure\, as well as producing content and live experiential events. The organization is also focused on creating organic\, meaningful partnerships in order to build educational initiatives and structured support systems for industry women of color both during and after the pandemic. \nCandace partners annually with the GRAMMY Museum to create a panel series for students focusing on music industry careers. Through the GRAMMY Museum\, she worked with former First Lady Michelle Obama’s “Reach Higher” initiative to provide virtual mentorship. With LA’s famed 1500 Sound Academy\, she created a “Touring 360” class to lay the blueprint for a career in live music. Candace continues to serve as an inspirational voice at music conferences and events\, carving out her path in the live music industry and beyond. \nCandace holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communications & Entertainment from California State University\, Fullerton\, and a Masters of Arts in Communications from California State University\, Los Angeles. She lives in LA with her son. \n—– \nAnjel Lopez has 6+ years of touring experience\, and almost 10 years in live events. She graduated 2015 from Columbia College Chicago with a BA in Business & Entrepreneurship.  \nShe started off as a writer/photographer for some small blogs & publications before college\, then secured an internship in college with React Presents\, a former EDM promoter in Chicago. From there\, she interned as a Logistics Assistant in office\, and worked as a Box Office Manager\, Runner\, and Hospitality for their shows and festivals. \nShe then met a mentor who gave her her first shot in the Production world and she continued to hire her and put her up for gigs. This eventually lead to her getting her first tour as a Merch Manager. From there\, she worked for VIP Nation locally\, and eventually was asked to become a touring VIP Rep. She continued to meet more people\, grow skill sets\, and eventually began PAing\, learning wardrobe skills\, and Production Coordinating. \nShe also speaks Spanish\, and has done a handful of Latin tours. \n—————– \nFinessed Media is a New York City based start-up focused on developing content in all things music entrepreneurship and creation. The company was founded in January 2020 with the mission to provide resources for a worldwide audience interested in making it in the music industry in any capacity. \nOur contributors spotlight music and stories of artists\, A&R reps\, DJs\, music tech executives\, radio hosts\, and more to speak on their experiences and share insight for others to learn from. In this event\, Cassie Wilson and Sabeerah Najee will be speaking to us about their initiatives and efforts to making the industry more accessible and why it can no longer be overlooked.  \nWe will be joined by: \nCassie Wilson (she/her) – Founder of Half/Access \nSabeerah Najee – Artist/ DJ  \n— \nAgenda: \n12 – 12:10pm EST Introductions \n12:10 – 12:45pm EST Interview with Cassie Wilson + Sabeerah Najee \n12:45 – 1:00pm EST Q&A with the audience  \n1:00 – 1:30 pm EST Community Networking Session \n\n\n\nCassie Wilson fell in love with live music as a teen and could be found at every local show for her favorite upcoming artists in Portland. Born with a form of Dwarfism that led to her being an ambulatory wheelchair user\, after a few years of being front row at every show\, Cassie started speaking up on social media about the inaccessibility of concert venues. She connected with other disabled music fans across the country experiencing similar challenges and decided to start Half Access as a way to increase accessibility to live music for everyone.  \n\n\n\nSabeerah Najee\, a Long Beach native\, has been surrounded by music since birth. During the 90s\, Najee’s father was a security guard to many artists in the music industry. Her mother and grandmother filled the home with music by serenading their home and her grandfather has an impressive collection of every jazz record you could think of. Najee was born with Spina Bifida and requires the use of a wheelchair to get around. Despite these obstacles\, her loved ones instilled in her that she can do anything she puts her mind to. Once she fell in love with DJing\, her passion continued to be her driving force\, as she is living out her dreams. Sabeerah has DJ’d the second annual Soulection Experience at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles\, has opened for legendary EDM producer Mr.Carmack on his tour\, and recently DJ’d Coachella’s Mojave stage to name a few. She is also the Concept Producer for Goldenvoice’s accessibility initiative\, Accessible+. Sabeerah is a firm believer in manifestation and that with the power of community\, any dream is attainable.
