DESCRIPTION:Do you want to learn the art of Studio Recording and Production? How about Mixing and Basic Signal processing?\nNow you can at WAM! WAMAC\n\n\nIn this Level 2 course\, you will learn all the skills needed to record\, produce\, and mix\, and everything that comes with it! Read more about each part of the course below.  \nThis course — taught by WAM Studio Director\, Mary Ann Zahorsky — will be spread out over a few weeks to accommodate the holiday. *Please check the dates/times carefully for  Level 2a and Level 2b in the details below before purchasing tickets.*  \nNOTE:This is an upper-level course and will not be accessible for folks who have not had basic audio production training. Recent completion of WAM Academy Level I and basic understanding of Pro Tools is strongly recommended. \n___ \nLEVEL 2a – STUDIO RECORDING & PRODUCTION (part 1) \nStudio Recording and Production\, including Large Format Console Signal Flow & Patchbays\, Auxes & Inserts\, Headphone Mixes\, and Mic placement techniques. \nTuesdays: 11/1\, 11/8\, 11/15\, 11/22\, 12/6 \nTime: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nLocation: WAM’s Professional\, San Francisco Recording Studio at 542 Natoma St\, San Francisco\, CA 94103 \n* Proof of vaccination and mask are required. \n___ \nLEVEL 2b: MIXING AND BASIC SIGNAL PROCESSING  (part 2) \nEQ\, Dynamic\, and Time-based processing with hands-on access to Pro Tools at WAM’s Oakland Teaching  Lab. \nTuesdays: 1/10\, 1/17\, 1/24\, 1/31 \nTime: 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm \nLocation: WAM’s Oakland lab (WAMO)\, located at 1900 Fruitvale Ave\, Unit 3A\, 3rd floor\, Oakland \n* Proof of vaccination and mask are required. \n____ \nTICKET INFO \nGeneral Price:  $350 \nWAM Member Price: Members get discounts! We thank you for your understanding  and for joining us in our mission to advance women and girls in music production and the recording arts. \n________ \nMary Ann Zahorsky\, WAM Studio Director\, is an engineer/producer with over 25 years of experience in the recording industry. She has worked on projects ranging from Howard Wiley’s 2nd Line\, Afro-Cuban jazz\, Whitney Houston\, and MC Hammer\, to soundtracks for independent films and TV postwork on ad campaigns such as Levi’s and Taco Bell. Within the Recording Academy leadership\, Mary Ann served on the National Board of Trustees and led the San Francisco Board as Chapter President. As an educator\, Mary Ann taught studio recording\, production\, entertainment business\, and audio post-production at Expression College and San Francisco State University. She especially enjoys working with emerging artists and engineers and the energy they bring to the evolving field of music. Mary Ann also grew up playing classical violin and for many years\, has participated in Traditional Mexican Son and classical African music ensembles. She holds a BA in Music from the University of California\, Berkeley\, and a Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco.
