We will not turn anyone away\, but please be mindful that if you take up a seat in the class\, that is one less woman\, non-binary\, or gender-expansive individual that we can serve. We thank you for your understanding in advance and for joining us in our mission to advance women and girls in music production and the recording arts. \n____ \nAbout the Instructors: \nHeidi Trefethen is a recording and live sound engineer\, producer\, classical and jazz French Hornist\, educator\, and composer. SUMMARY:Get Set Session: Glasgow Americana Festival
DESCRIPTION:Discover how Help Musicians can support you in getting going on your next creative endeavour\, and how to get started on your application.\n\n\nThis session will guide you through the types of activities for which you can receive support\, the application process\, common mistakes and top tips\, equipping you to write the best possible application. \nWho is running this session? \nHelp Musicians wants a world where musicians thrive. As an evolving charity now in its centenary year\, and following a year of extreme need\, it has made the major move to remove deadlines from its creative financial support; ensuring musicians across the UK have more opportunities to develop\, create and release on their own terms. \nWhat will happen on the day? \nThe session will consist of a presentation from the Help Musicians team\, followed by a Q&A. \nWhen can I begin my application for creative support? \nWhenever you’re ready! The removal of deadlines and move to always available support allows creators to apply for help towards developing their skills\, recording\, releasing and promoting their music whenever they need it\, 365 days a year. This signals the end of waiting for ‘rounds’ to be open and meeting application deadlines. Every application will receive an outcome within 10 weeks\, no matter the day\, week or month. \nWhy remove the deadlines? \nFinancial barriers shouldn’t stop a musician reaching their creative potential. Removing deadlines from our creative support means creators always have somewhere to turn to when they’re ready to progress their music\, career or skillset.

There are limited spots available in our events\, and they often sell out\, so we ask that if you are not a woman (transgender or cisgender)\, non-binary\, gender-expansive\, or gender non-conforming\, you reconsider registering. We will not turn anyone away\, but please be mindful that if you take up a seat\, that is one less woman or gender-expansive individual that we can serve. We thank you for your understanding in advance and for joining us in our mission to advance women\, girls\, and gender-expansive people in music production and the recording arts. \n_____ \nPHOTO RELEASE: \nPlease note that by purchasing a ticket for this event\, you are granting Women’s Audio Mission and its staff\, volunteers\, professional photographers\, and the media the absolute right and permission to take during the Event and to use and publish photographs of you\, still or moving\, with or without your name\, and to reproduce same through any media\, for artistic\, promotional\, advertising\, web content or other commercial and non-commercial purposes\, and you shall not be entitled to any monetary compensation of any kind in respect thereof.
