We thank you for your understanding in advance and for joining us in our mission to advance women and girls in music production and the recording arts. \n____ \nAbout the Instructors: \nHeidi Trefethen is a recording and live sound engineer\, producer\, classical and jazz French Hornist\, educator\, and composer. During her 31 years of work in the music industry\, Heidi has worked with artists such as Shawn Colvin\, Jane Fonda\, Lily Tomlin\, Michelle Ndegeocello\, Herb Alpert and Lani Hall\, Peter Yarrow of Peter\, Paul\, and Mary\, and has a Concert Sound credit on PBS’ American Masters | Holly Near: Singing for Our Lives. As a French Hornist\, she has performed and given master classes in countries such as Italy\, Thailand\, Bosnia and Herzegovina\, the UK\, and Canada. The LA Philharmonic\, Il Teatro d’opera di Roma\, the SFJAZZ Monday Night Band\, and several Bay Area regional orchestras are a few of the ensembles she has performed with. Heidi is a faculty member of the SFJAZZ Digital Lab\, Women’s Audio Mission\, and the Institute for the Musical Arts and teaches private classes and lessons. Heidi is also a GRAMMY® Voting member and Governor on the Board of the San Francisco Chapter of the Recording Academy. She is the San Francisco Chapters’ Diversity\, Equity\, and Inclusion Ambassador to the National DEI Team of the Recording Academy. She is passionate about equality and creating a healthy environment for women of color\, gender non-conforming\, and women-identified individuals in the music industry. \nMary Ann Zahorsky is an engineer/producer with over 25 years of experience in the recording industry. She has worked on projects ranging from Howard Wiley’s 2nd Line\, Afro-Cuban jazz\, Whitney Houston\, and MC Hammer\, to soundtracks for independent films and TV postwork on ad campaigns such as Levi’s and Taco Bell. Within the Recording Academy leadership\, Mary Ann served on the National Board of Trustees and led the San Francisco Board as Chapter President. As an educator\, Mary Ann has taught studio recording\, production\, entertainment business\, and audio post-production at Expression College and at San Francisco State University. She especially enjoys working with emerging artists and engineers and the energy they bring to the evolving field of music. Mary Ann also grew up playing classical violin and for many years has participated in Traditional Mexican Son and classical African music ensembles. She holds a BA in Music from the University of California\, Berkeley\, and a Masters in Education from the University of San Francisco.

DESCRIPTION:All students who wish to enter the Bachelor of Music (Music Theatre) must successfully audition to enter this course.\n\n\nThis event is for Bachelor of Music – Music Theatre applicants intending to commence study at AIM Melbourne in study period 1\, 2023 commencing 31 January.   There is only 1 intake per year for Music Theatre.  Applicants for 2024 will be invited to apply  next year.  \n \nAn open call audition day will enable a collaborative and experience-based audition\, working with faculty and getting a sense of what student life is like at AIM.   \nWhat to expect at a musical theatre audition \nAcross the course of the day\, prospective students will participate in a series of classes in addition to a 1:1 interview/audition.  \nThe audition process consists of: \n\nSinging: Students will be assessed on vocal technique and development potential in addition to general musicality. Two contrasting pieces are required to be performed. All sheet music in correct keys should be supplied by the prospective student.   \nActing: Students will be required to perform a prepared monologue (2-3) mins of their own choosing in addition to general acting instruction on the day assessing skill level and potential for development.  \nDance: Students will be assessed on their technical abilities\, approach to dance/movement and potential for development.  \n\nWe encourage you to showcase your interests and talents\, revealing who you are as a performer. DESCRIPTION:An evening of experimental sound from Eiliyas and Ella Kay!\n\n\nJoin these two exciting sound artists in the intimate\, industrial setting of Metal at Edge Hill Station in Liverpool. \nThe Lineup \nEiliyas is a Macon-born\, Atlanta-bred\, Berlin-based artist working with music\, sound design\, creative writing and conceptual art. Sound\, video\, synchronicity\, broken technology\, idealism\, pen\, paper\, pencil\, ink\, song\, simplicity\, layers\, life\, environment and others are just some of the tools that Eiliyas uses to execute his artistic endeavours. \nElla Kay is an electroacoustic composer\, sound artist\, and saxophonist who aims to draw attention to important cultural topics through sound.
